N gauge Layouts
A modern image layout, based on the site of the old Alyth Junction, is a 'what if' the Strathmore Line had been reinstated in the 1970's, to relieve the pressure on the ECML caused by the bottle neck due to the single line section south of Montrose.
Sidings constructed at the junction are used by the local area oil supplier as well as the Strathmore Line's (Railtrack) permanent way depot. An old mill, in the sidings area, is used by both a local storage firm and a farm machinery repair mechanic.
A fictitious American mainline layout set somewhere in the foothills of the Rockies. Various customers that are served by the railroad include a coal mine, grain silo, freight house and small oil well. There is also a logging branch climbing into the hills that brings down raw timber to the jucntion for onward shipping.

A layout, owned by one of our members, based on Inverbervie, the teminus of the branch from Montrose. Set in the 60's, early diesels are the norm but, due to failures, a rare steam trip is still seen. Some licence has been taken to run passenger trains (actually withdrawn in 1951) and by adding 2 extra sidings to add operational interest. Most of the buildings represent actual structures in the area.

Out of service for complete rewiring and replacing some of the short radius points.
An easily transportable Z gauge layout, owned by one of our members, comprising 2 tracks that ride over each other numerous times with loads of tunnels. Track laid and now getting messy with mod-rock.
